The rot of spot fixing has taken its toll on IPL today as the IPL governing council decided to suspend five players – TP Sudhindra (Deccan Chargers), Mohnish Mishra (Pune Warriors), Amit Yadav and Shalabh Shrivastava (Kings XI Punjab) and Abhinav Bali ( Delhi player) for 15 days following their names in the sting operation.
Earlier a tv channel did a sting operations and named these five players which were involved in spot fixing. In the sting,the players revealed that they got more money than the actual reserved price and also accepted the fact that they were indulged in spot fixing in not only IPL but also in first class matches.
BCCI chief N Srinivasan commented on the allegations and said, “We will ensure that the integrity of the game is protected. BCCI believes in the integrity of the game. We will take the strictest possible action. We will have to have the tapes and the moment we see it, whoever is the player, we will take very very strict action.”
