On Friday August 20, The Indian Premier League’s governing council’s member met in Mumbai to take a final decision on how many number of matches will be played in the IPL 2011. But again the meeting proved to be unsuccessful as final decision could not be taken. It should be kept in mind that IPL-5 will have 10 teams as two new teams, IPL Pune and Kochi will also join the remaining 8 teams in IPL 2011. Due to this number of matches in current form would be 94 in total. Many experts believe that these many matches will be too much for players and can cause excessive injuries and fatigue.
Next meeting of IPL council is now scheduled to be in first week of September
