In what could be a perfect example of exemplary money making model, the value of the Indian Premier League has grown to $4.13 Billion. As compared to last year’s $2.01 billion, this time it has doubled and it still continues to grow at an unimaginable pace.

Even in the time of global meltdown, IPL brand has emerged as a clear winner. Not only it has given cricket a new face but has also made the franchises richer, said a report from Brand France – A leading Brand Valuation consultancy.

Following are the teams in order of brand value
1. Chennai Super Kings
Chennai Super Kings led by Mahendra Singh Dhoni may not have won the IPL even once but the brand name has moved 4 places up and has become the number one brand and is valued at $48.4 million this year as compared to $39.4 million last year.

2. Kolkata Knight Riders
Kolkata Knight Riders ruled the brand valuation charts last year with $42.1 million, but this time they have moved one place down with valuation of $46 million. The team led by Sourav Ganguly, is owned by Shah Rukh Khan, Juhi Chawla and her husband Jay Mehta.

3. Rajasthan Royals
Rajasthan Royals owned by Emerging Media Group and captained by Shane Warne have the third position with a value of $45.2 million, up from $39.5 million last year.

4. Royal Challengers Bangalore
Vijay Mallya is a brand in himself and though is the team owned by him. Royal Challengers led by Anil Kumble have raised the valuation from $37.4 million last year to $41.9 million this year.

5. Mumbai Indians
India’s richest man, Mukesh Ambani’s owns Mumbai Indians which is led by master blaster Sachin Tendulkar.This year the brand value has fallen to $40.8 million from $41.6 million last year.

6. Delhi Daredevils
The Delhi Daredevils is owned by GMR and is led by Gautam Gambhir. They have increased the value from $39.2 million in 2009 to $40.5 million in 2010 .

7. Kings XI Punjab
Preity Zinta, Ness Wadia , Karan Paul and Mohit Burman own this team and this year the value has not changed much. Last year it was valued at $36.3 million and this year it is valued at $36.1 million.

8. Hyderabad Deccan Chargers
Deccan Chronicle team, Deccan Chargers led by Adam Gilchrist won the championship last year but this year the brand has lost some value. It was valued at $34.8 million in 2009 and this year the value is $34.4 million.
