McGrath was shocked by a recent survey that said nearly half of the Australian cricketers were willing to give up their central contracts to play in the IPL and the retired star, who would be playing in the Twenty20 tournament for Delhi Daredevils, said money could never replace the pride of representing one’s country.

“I read about the survey and it has thrown up some interesting figures and I am quite surprised by them. I would be very disappointed if they start putting IPL over country as I think playing for your country is the most important thing,” McGrath told reporters on the sidelines of a practice session of the team here.
